The National Signals Museum

The exhibitions and collections of the National Signals Museum are transferred to the city of Hämeenlinna to the new museum, The Artillery, Engineers and Signals Museum.

National Signals Museum opened its doors at 1974. The museum is concentrated on military communications and it holds Finland´s largest collection of military communication material. The museums basic exhibition contains several hundreds items and there are also occasional theme exhibitions.


EnigmaThe Signals Museum basic exhibition includes material from the times of beacons and messenger pigeons all the way to modern cellular phones. The museums collection holds rare items like a Hughes-telegraph, a radio controlled mine detonator and the famous ciphering device Enigma. Also handguns used by the signal troops are represented.
